BGB DIGILINC PROFILE

Digilinc was developed through BGB Marine’s ambition to supply the Aquaculture industry with underwater lighting and camera systems. Digilinc’s blueprint was the ability to remotely switch between individual video cameras immersed within several fish cages whilst taking wireless control of feeding systems to distances of up to 6km from shore. Once the system had been perfected for this industry, it soon became apparent that its technology and flexibility allowed adaptation for many industries and applications where wireless monitoring or data transfer to 20km is required.

From the initial prototyping and testing of the system, came the name Digilinc – ‘Digi’ for the nature of the digital information which can be transferred and ‘linc’ for the wireless Ethernet bridge it provides allied to the fact that BGB is based in Lincolnshire or ‘linc’ for short.
